CNS Brain Center uses a 3 Tesla (3T) MRI, an advanced system that operates at double the magnetic field strength of standard 1.5T hospital scanners. The additional signal available with a 3T MRI can be used to produce higher-resolution images, thinner image slices, and specialized neurological sequences, making it especially valuable when evaluating the brain and spinal cord.
High-resolution imaging can provide greater anatomical detail when evaluating subtle tissue differences and small neurological structures. Image quality, however, also depends on the imaging protocol, software, technologist, and physician interpretation.
